Bagard Box Bois de Ste Lucie
Extremely finely carved, these pieces were made in Nancy, France by Charles Bagard to replace luxurious silver boxes when the use of precious metal was made illegal in 1689 as they were needed to pay for Louis XIV foreign wars.
